In 2009 we bred most of the tobiano daughters/granddaughters of Ris Key to This Cat Flys, our NCHA $$ earning son of Highbrow Cat (o/o dtr of Delta Flyer).

2010 we bred our Ris Key daughters fo multiple Congress Champion: Double Delta Olena

In 2011 and 2012 we bred most of the daughters/granddaughter of Ris Key to COLORED ME BLUE: a roan tobiano SON of the multimillion dollar cutting sire: Color Me Smart.  Even better - "BLUE" is out of a FULL SISTER to the AQHA and NCHA legend: Peptoboonsmal (by Peppy San Badger).  WOW.  100% color producer as all his foals have been roan and/or tobiano

Tested - HERDA negative. (Now 5 panel tested, and Colored Me Blue is all clear)    We have several 2012  and 2013 foals currently available from the mares below.

In 2014 we bred the majority of our mares to Pepsis Color Master.   Pepsi is a 15.1 hand son of a roping pt earning son of RR Riskymastrpiece (o/o a dtr of Doc Quixote). Pepsi's dam is a dtr of Pepsi Poco.  He is a dble hz (black and tobiano) dunskin who is heterozygous agouti.  (So yes, he has an equal chance of producing blacks and grullos and/or buckskins and duns)

We will also again start breeding A Breeze of Class - our grullo tobiano son of Ris Key Business - to a few more mares.  He kind of got put on a back burner when we had his grullo hz tobiano son to use. (sold the son to New York)

2015 we bred a half dozen mares to Diaman H Straits Boon.  He's a 'home grown' blue roan tobiano son of Colored Me Blue (see above) out of a daughter of Strait From Texas.  "Boon" is currently in training with Jack Wright of Penrose, Colorado.  You can expect to see his name many times in 2017 if you follow APHA show results.  He is VERY talented with TONS of potential.  Add that to the fact he's with a world reknown trainer......

In 2016 we will add the black tobiano, double homozygous son of Ris Key Business -  NO RISK - to our stallion line up.

2017 we boarded the stallion, QTsGold MasterCard. Boarding turned into leasing for the breeding season. We now have about a dozen mares in foal to him for 2018.

Photos and more info (including pedigrees) on these stallions can be found on the 'APHA stallions' page.

A number of these mares ride to varying degrees, as noted in the individual bios. Extended pedigrees are available. If you see something you like, or want information on a past, present or future foal, just let me know.  Any offspring we still have will be listed below that mare's bio.  You can then access their info and photos on other pages - according to year of birth.

Most of our broodmares come with a 'live foal guarantee' as well as a 1/2 priced breeding to any of our stallions (except Ris Key).....for the breeding season immediately after purchase.

Depending on time of year, we do sell 3-in-1 and 2-in-1 combinations. Also, if you are looking for more than one broodmare/riding horse we are always willing to discuss 'package deals'.

**PLEASE NOTE THAT ONCE WE GET TO JANUARY OF THE YEAR A MARE IS DUE, WE USUALLY DON'T INCLUDE THE INUTERO FOAL IN THE PRICE LISTED FOR THE MARE**

If you see something you like, but don't have the cash up front - payment plans are an option, and a  20% - 25% deposit will hold a horse.  ASK for details.

In case you don't pick up on the fact that these mares are listed in order of age - figured I'd just as well mention that right now in case age is a factor in your search.

3/23/2014   We have tested our stallions for the 5 genetic disorders.  All have come back negative.   That includes the sires of  a number of these mares and/or their foals.  Specifically: Diaman H Risky LilPep and A Breeze of Class are both 5 panel negative...as well as the new guy  - Pepsis Color Master and our young blue roan tobiano stud(Diaman H Straits Boon).   We believe that Ris Key Business was also 5 panel negative, as we have tested a number of his offspring and they are all 5 panel negative..... And as of January, 2016 we have also tested No Risk - the black tobiano (double homozygous) son of Ris Key Business - ALSO **5 panel negative**

horsesandfall.jpg

Any horse listed as **sale pending** means I currently have a deposit in hand and/or payments are being made.  As we all know, things don't always turn out as anticipated, so if you have an interest in one of these horses please contact me if you want to be kept informed of it's sale status.

This mare (Bella) will be in training this summer (2016). Price will increase according to training fees. Bella was bred to No Risk for a 2017 foal. Hoping for a blue roan tobiano foal....although a buckskin tobiano would be ok, too. ;-)

This filly - Bella - is the fourth generation of 'home grown' mares/fillies. All three of the previous mares were, in their time, on my list of all time favorite mares. That list currently includes her dam (see her below - the 2006 palomino dtr of Ris Key Business). It appears this filly will be the shortest of the 4 generations, and will mature between her paternal grandsire's heights of 14 hands (Color Me Smart) and 14.2 (Ris Key Business). Bella is such a cutie! She is well built and has that striking color with dark (almost chocolate) palomino points and a lighter body that is often produced when the palomino and roan genes are both present.

Super quiet, super sweet filly.  Dam and sire both stand around 15 hands, so that's where I'd expect her to mature as well. **I'm going to revise her expected height. She's almost 4 now and looks like she's going to finish at 14.2..... No big surprise, as her grandsire, Color Me Smart is just shy of 14 hands. Her other grandsire, Ris Key Business was only 14.2. The dam of this filly is my personal riding horse. You won't find a quieter, sweeter mare......and so far every one of her foals have been exactly the same way.....

I'm thinking really, really hard about whether or not we want to sell this one - we just sold her dam - and this is  Ris Key's last foal.

November, 2014 update.   This filly is FINALLY looking like a horse.  She's not real tall yet, but is REALLY filled out and looking great.  Very much a late bloomer, but we will probably go ahead and breed her in the spring and then get at least 30 - 60 days on her later in the summer.  We usually get the first 30 days on at least a year before breeding our mares.....but as I said, this filly took awhile to 'bloom'.

Bred to Pepsis Color Master for a 2017 foal. Guaranteed homozygous foal.

In foal to Diaman H Straits Boon for 2018 for a guaranteed roan tobiano or a black homozygous tobiano foal.

This filly is sweet and gentle and will come find you in the pasture....she loves the attention.  She is a gorgeous color of red dun, with all the stripes and barring you'd expect, as well as a flaxen mane (not really her tail, though).  She should mature well over 15 hands, as her dam is 15 - 15.1 and her sire is 15.3.  She is STOUT!!  This one might be a 'keeper'....definitely would be if we didn't have so many mares already!

Photos were taken spring 2013, fall 2012, and spring 2011.  Hard to tell the difference, because she sure got that HUGE hip at a young age.

First thirty days under saddle: October, 2012

Another 30 days, April, 2013

Ridden extensively on trails through the fall and winter of 2013/2014, along with more arena work.

This is one VERY nice mare!!

Falcon is a sweet young mare with an outstanding pedigree. Falcon was broke to ride as a 3 year old and was very easy and agreeable to her training. She's a nice sized mare, standing around 14.3, and extremely stocky. Big boned. We've gotten a couple of foals from Falcon, including a grulla, hz tobiano filly, and a blue roan tobiano colt. We did not breed her for 2016, but will probably go ahead and breed her to Pepsi for a 2017 foal. Update** Confirmed in foal to Pepsi for dble hz foal in 2017. I am thrilled with the foals we are getting from Pepsi crossed on our daughters and granddaughter of Ris Key Business. It seems many other people agree - we came close to selling his entire foal crop before they were a year old.....

In foal to Diaman H Straits Boon for a 2018 foal. This foal will either be blue roan tobiano or double homozygous black tobiano.

SIRE: Like A Diamond (by Grays Starlight)

DAM: Doxs Painted Lady (dam of Color Me Smart)

In foal to Pepsis Color Master for 2015.
May, 2015 - silver grulla tobiano filly.  NICE!!

In foal to Diaman H Straits Boon for 2016
In utero foals NOT included with mare past January.

She gave us a great little red roan overo in 2016 and a bay tobiano (by our dble hz black tobiano son of Ris Key Business) in 2017.

We left her open for 2018.

VVR Ranch in France has fallen nearly $10,000 behind in board payments, so we are offering this mare (and her 2017 foal) for sale to partially offset the payment default. We NEED HER GONE, make us an offer. Just for reference: We sold her to VVR for $4000. We have all the paperwork here, in our name, we learned a hard lesson with the last horses she boarded here, so no issues that way......

This one gets the 'Best Personality' prize.  What a sweetheart.   She rides the same way.  She has 30 - 60 days ride on her between November and December 2011 and is about as spook proof as any young horse you will find.  I see 'kids horse' in her future.  We put a lot more trail miles on her in 2013 (bottom photo), she's still a great horse to ride....but she can get 'buddy sour'.  Good news is that she's still quiet enough that you can put a kid on her, as long as there's another horse to follow.

"April" is a very nice, well mannered mare.  She is broke to ride, and has a big engine.  Recommended for at least an intermediate rider because of that.  She stands around 15 hands tall.

Friendly mare, nice to be around.    We were told she is broke to ride, but have not made any attempt to confirm that.

**UPDATE** May, 2012.  Registration papers and signed transfers are on the way from France.  We have ridden this mare....while she doesn't know too much (no neck rein, no response to leg pressure, etc) she does ride very quietly and would be suitable for most riders that are experienced with riding a green horse.  She needs some miles, but certainly seems to be safe enough....
May, 2014 5 panel tested - all negative.

Big colt born in May 2013 by Colored Me Blue.  Bay roan, MIGHT have high enough stockings for regular papers.   Update:  YES, APHA DID register him as tobiano. (sold)

We've sold every foal from Bree as soon as they get weaned. In spite of the fact she's been such an outstanding producer, we do plan to give her a year off after she foals in 2016. Even broodmares need a break now and then.....

**UPDATE** Due to the declining health of A Breeze of Class, we DID have him cover Bree for one cycle before putting her and her filly out to pasture. If she's in foal for 2017, we will give her a break the following year.....

2017's foal is a big black tobiano colt. Double homozygous and super, super thick.

Bree has been left open for 2018 to give her a much needed break.

Diaman H Risk Key Beau

2006 black tobiano mare

Daughter of Ris Key Business out of a daughter of QT Poco Streke. Beau has been tested and is homozygous for both the black and the tobiano genes. She is also negative on the 5 panel tests.

Beau has had a rough life, so her next home will be screened, and we will request a first right of refusal (we have the option to meet any offer you get on her) in the contract if the buyer decides to sell her. She left when she was not quite a year old, came back 'home' after almost 10 years. Years that included her herd being seized by officials for starvation as well as other forms of neglect. Beau is not trusting of people (as you'd expect) but she is sweet and nice to handle. A little grain will get you a LOOONG ways with this girl. She is the bottom mare in the herd and tends to stay by herself because of that. Beau is a GREAT mother, and likes being a mother.

She just foaled a double hz grullo tobiano colt (April, 2017) and bred back to Diaman H Straits Boon for a blue roan tobiano or double homozygous black tobiano 2018 foal.

This is a marvelous mare.  She is one of Ris Key's best looking babies.  There is nothing about her that I would change, other than the fact she is a SPB.  We've done all the testing on her, and she is negative for 5 panel, as well as splash, lethal, and tobiano genes.
She was broke to ride as a late 2 year old, then used as broodmare starting at age 4.  She was given a year off again in 2013/2014 and was ridden extensively on trails.

2015 she gave us a grullo, double cream tobiano colt, sired by Pepsis Color Master.
She is again in foal to Pepsis Color Master for 2016.

We did not breed Belle in 2016. She is getting the year off.

2006 black tobiano filly

Oh, yeah....another double bred Ris Key 'winner', and another with very unique markings.  Doesn't hardly seem like the same horse from the other side, does it? I'm guessing the APHA will register her as a tovero.....once again that means you are looking at at least 75% color producer - and that's if you breed her to a solid!   We love this dam, we love her dam's dam - and we love this little filly as well.  She is so sweet.  She has that 'Ris Key' disposition - doubled - which makes her just a pleasure to be around.  Which is good, 'cause she's another one that will come find you in the pasture for a little lovin'.

Easy to start under saddle.  30 days ride in November, 2008.

In foal to Colored Me Blue for 2012 - bay homozygous tobiano filly

Bred back to Colored Me Blue for 2013 - another bay homozygous tobiano filly....(SOLD)

Not bred back for 2014.  We will put more riding on this mare once her filly is weaned, and market her as a riding horse.

So, we did put quite a few more miles on this mare.....  Sent her to a friend/trainer and now this mare is my favorite riding horse.  Took her on a few trails over the summer of 2014 and Zipp never took a wrong step.  She is bold, and quiet.   Needs a very light hand, but otherwise should ride for about anyone.  I screwed up though (I think).  I bred for a 2015 foal. Bred to Pepsis Color Master.  It will be an early foal (at least for us), so maybe we can get it weaned before  I want to go trail riding again next summer??   Not gonna breed her for 2016....

In foal to QTsGold MasterCard for 2018.

NO LONGER FOR SALE.   Zipp is now MY trail horse.

We bred 'Tigg' in 2011 and got a wonderful red roan colt/gelding from her.  She is an excellent, protective mother and her colt is extremely big and stout.  Since she was a maiden mare, we were pleasantly surprised, since the first foal does tend to be just a bit smaller.  Tigg was broke to ride as a late 2 year old/early 3 year old.  She actually was one of the trainer's favorites, since she was so quiet...yet extremely responsive and willing to learn.  Because of that we did NOT breed her back to 2013, but are selling her as a riding horse instead.  If not sold before spring, 2013, she will go back to a trainer so they can put a lot of trail miles on her.  At that point, her price will increase according to the cost of her training.

This mare is well mannered and nice to be around.  Friendly.  100% sound to ride and/or breed.  Like most horses after they've not been ridden for a few years, she will need a 'refresher course' (unless you are an experienced horse person or are simply looking for a well bred, well mannered broodmare)....but I think you will really like this one.....

SUPER nice black tobiano filly!

Bred to Pepsis Color Master for 2015.
WOW.  Not sure I could have designed a more perfect filly than the one Tigg had this year.  Not only is this filly conformationally ideal, she is a grulla tobiano WITH the crème gene AND double homozygous!

Tigg has produced several amazing foals for us.  She's a 'keeper'.  We bred her to Diaman H Straits Boon for 2016.  2016 could be quite interesting......

2016 Tigg gave us yet another outstanding filly! Hoping it's blue roan....but starting to look like it's black (tobiano)
Tigg is bred to Pepsis Color Master for 2017.
So, after giving us an amazing buckskin/dun double homozygous colt in 2017, Tigg deserved a year off. We did not breed her back this year.

This is a sweet mare with great markings. Before we got her, she had a couple of years off from raising babies, but in 2017 she gave us a double hz grullo (w/cream) tobiano filly, sired by No Risk. We bred her to Pepsis Color Master for her 2018 foal. Could be an interesting color combination with two dunskin tobiano parents.... Pepsi is double hz, so we do know it will be a tobiano w/black points....

Jolie was well broke to ride, but has suffered an injury that currently makes her broodmare sound only. Plenty of time to heal here, and if she's never sound to ride again, that's fine. She'll have a place here forever, if need be.

Hotpants is a kind friendly mare.   She has good size to her and a great pedigree.  She has not been tested for homozygousity, however she has produced both sorrel hz tobiano foals as well as black hz tobiano foals.  If you are familiar with the genetic link between the black and tobiano genes, you know that is a virtual guarantee that Hotpants IS homozygous for tobiano.
Hotpants is an experienced broodmare, and I have been told she is a great mother.  She is currently in foal to QTs Cita Spots, a homozygous son of QT Poco Streke.  QTs Cita Spots has an impressive show record with NRHA earnings as well as his APHA superior in reining.

$3500......now $3750 in foal to A Breeze of Class

I could not have designed a better 2017 foal. Grullo, homozygous tobiano filly. I'll be pricing her at a 'keeper' price!!

We are giving Hot Pants a year off. There will be no foal from her in 2018.

**UPDATE** Hot Pants has been confirmed to be homozygous for tobiano thorough DNA testing. She was also clean across the panel on the 5 panel genetics test (as well as LWO).

This mare is an outstanding broodmare and quiet under saddle.   Every year, she gives us a BIG, quiet, conformationally correct foal.   She was ridden just a few times a year, every year, when our daughter came home from college.  Because of that, she's not well broke, but she has always been very easy to get along with. Never offered to buck, rear, etc.  Just point and kick....

"Jackie" just arrived at our farm this past spring (2015).  She has never been ridden, and never been bred.  It took a little time, but she is fitting into our herd quite nicely.  Like many of the QT's, she is quite a big mare.  I'd guess 15.2, as she's around the same size as our blue roan  and black tobiano sisters, who are our biggest mares.   Taller than we normally like....but the quality  and pedigree can not be denied.
We bred Jackie to our blue roan tobiano stallion: Diaman H Straits Boon.  We'll probably offer this mare for sale in the next year or two, but we'd like to get a baby or two from her first.

2016 - blue roan tobiano filly.

Darn it, we have SO many broodmares, I was hoping to resell this mare in another year or two....but if this filly is any indication of what this mare will be producing in the years to come....we will have adjust her price to 'keeper'.

7/28/2016 - Test results are back. Jackie is 5 panel and LWO negative.

So, it looks like Jackie gave us a 'winner' again this year. Her 2017 buckskin tobiano colt is absolutely gorgeous! Bred back to Pepsis Color Master for 2018, and hoping we get another one just like this one....but maybe double homozygous this time??

Jessie is our oldest Ris Key daughter.     She really has great conformation and a captivating look about her.   With her bold personality, she should make an excellent show horse.  She took the saddle really well this past fall (as all the yearlings did......not really a 'bucker' in the bunch).  She's becoming very quiet and friendly.

30 days arena riding (October), then spent the month of November going down the road and on the trails. Tackled a 20 mile trail ride with all new horses on her first trip off the farm.  NO PROBLEMS. Put out to pasture for the winter in December.

**UPDATE** another 30 days on this filly started June, 2008.  Very talented, cooperative young mare.  Someone could really make something out of this one!!

We have used her as a broodmare for a couple of years, two really sharp colts....first to sell out of the entire foal crop each year.  Did not breed her for the past 2 years, she's being ridden and used as a lesson horse.  That's working out quite well, but she's not a beginner's  (or small child's) horse as she does have a little bit of 'gas'.

She ended up a bit taller than most of our daughters of Ris Key.  She looks to be her dam's height of 15 hands.  Super, super stout and heavy straight bones with that cute head and ear that Ris Key tends to put on all his babies.

Probably breed her again in 2013, and alternate another mare out of the 'broodmare' category and into the 'rider' category.

We will breed Jessie to Pepsis Color Master for a 2015 foal.  75% chance for a buckskin and/or dun or a smokey black and/or grulla tobiano foal in 2015.  50/50 chance of being homozygous tobiano, 50/50 chance of homozygous black....
Jessie gave us a nearly perfect colt.
He is buckskin tobiano, GREAT conformation, BIG colt .....and ....DOUBLE homozygous!

We did not breed Jessie in 2015. She's getting the year off. Jessie is in now confirmed foal to Pepsis Color Master for a 2017 foal.

This young filly has matured very early, exhibiting a huge hip and chest and is already 14.2 at age 2.  I expect her to mature in the 15 hand range.  2/07/07 - I'd say she's right at 15.1 hands now.  Her sire is also the grullo tobiano son of Ris Key Business and her dam is a daughter of  Roulettes Hit Man - APHA Champion, World Champion and world reknown sire.  That puts some pretty awesome horses in her pedigree as well:  Ris Key Business, Roulettes Hit Man, Far Ute Roulette (APHA Champion), Jackie Bee, Dry Gulch, Dry Doc, Hollywood Jac 86....

This is one beautiful dun  filly.  She is so sweet and so friendly.  Her dam is a massive gdtr of Colonel Freckles, and it looks as though this filly will mature with the same type of body.  Take a peek at Ms Fancy Freckles on the APHA broodmares page to get an idea of how this filly will look in a couple of years. This little girl has been ridden about 45 days now.  Most of it in the arena, as well as several rides down the road last summer.  (2005)   She is very, very quiet. She has incredible potential as a rope horse, team penner, etc.  She can easily be registered in the buckskin/dun registries, where she could take you to the 'head of the class'.  Ready to continue with training, or will be moved into the broodmare band in the spring.   NICE horse!!  She's very quiet, very willing.  No spook.  Only problem we're having is that (in the arena) you about break your legs kicking before you'll get her to lope.  Might have to think about spurs.....   However, you can get her to lope if she's riding outside.
My husband will probably be taking this one off the 'cheap' list.  He just sold his riding gelding and is looking for a replacement.  Mike is a 'walk-trot' kind of rider that loves a good looking horse, and needs one that's quiet and capable of hauling a heavy rider - and she's definitely heavy boned enough to haul him around!!

Bred to AQHA Diaman H Tardy Joe - 2010 red dun filly, massive AND gorgeous.
Bred to AQHA Bubba Dexter - 2012 smutty buckskin gelding....also massive AND gorgeous.

We did not breed her for 2013, but have to rethink our decision to pull her from the broodmare band after seeing what her two foals are growing into.....  One other (minor) factor in that decision - we put her back under saddle last fall after the foal was weaned, and maybe it's been too long since she was last ridden. The trainer got along with her just fine, but her personality is strong enough that she's NOT going to work for Mike anymore.  Strong personalities are a good thing in a broodmare....but not as a riding horse for walk/trot weekend rider.

I'm guessing we WILL breed her in 2013.

We bred Freckles for one cycle in 2016, but since it was getting late in the breeding season we did not check her back for a pregnancy. If she's in foal for 2017 (No Risk) that's great. If not, that's fine, too. She can have the year off. We have PLENTY of other foals coming Freckles has a cute, cute, cute black tobiano colt by her side in 2017. Not bred back for 2018. Getting the year off....

This is one of the nicest, most unique, looking fillies we've raised. She  has an extremely massive body and baby doll head - the bonus is her striking blue roan color.  She could be the last foal out of one of our best, but oldest, mares.  She really was a pain to start riding, so we gave up on that after a couple of weeks.  She has, however, turned into a very sweet mare and is (now) great to handle.  I guess she's just about everything a person could want in a broodmare...she does need a longer neck  - but her overall 'look' is captivating.

5 panel negative

($4500)

Bred to Colored Me Blue for a late, late 2013 foal.
This 2013 black tobiano filly was well worth the wait.  Double homozygous, 5 panel negative and GORGEOUS!

Will leave her (and her full sister also in this photo taken June, 2013) open for an early 2014 breeding to Kash.  check that - Kash is no longer an option....he's in Thailand.   We now have to choose from either Pepsis Color Master or Strait King Skipper.

Bred her to Strait King Skipper (black hz tobiano son of Strait From Texas) THIS 2015 foal will either be a black homozygous tobiano or a blue roan tobiano.
2015 - check out her black, homozygous tobiano colt!  His barn name is Prince Charming....because he is....     Super nice looking colt, with a personality that can't be beat!

NOT in foal for 2016....but confirmed in foal for 2017. Pepsis Color Master was the covering sire.

Not in foal for 2018. We'll try again in the spring....

This is a gorgeous, big bodied mare. Super sweet, super friendly. This mare has not been ridden for a few years, but was well broke to ride. In fact she was used as a lesson horse and a teen aged girl's trail horse when we sold her to a vet several years ago. That was a good life for "Jaw". (I know, weird barn name, but there's a long story behind it). The reason she is NOT priced (not saying I won't sell her, but will be pretty particular on her next buyer) is that Jaw has also had a horrible life with a different buyer. That sale ended with a county sheriff seizing ALL this lady's horses (a nurse, no less) due to starvation. Not just 'thin', but starvation to the point two other horses we sold her either died in her care, or were put down shortly after. Thank goodness we got Jaw (and One Eyed Jack) back!! Again Jaw has a good life. As you can see from the photo, her weight is back to 'normal' and she's very happy raising foals. Any future home for this mare will be VERY carefully screened. We try to ensure good homes for all of our horses, but obviously there are never any guarantees, in spite of those efforts....

Jaw has a GORGEOUS dun tobiano colt by her side in 2016 by Pepsis Color Master (sale pending on colt) We did not breed Jaw back for 2017. She's also getting the year off. We are also giving her the year off in 2017, with plans to breed her in 2018.

Might try riding her again??

This is another great young filly that was bred and born here.  Her dam is a foundation bred  blue roan mare that has consistently given us some great foals.I have no idea how this filly got to be the size she is, as she's pushing 16 hands.....at least 2 inches taller than her dam and a good hand taller than her sire.  She's a gorgeous mare with a sweet personality.  She's has several months of reining training, but has not been ridden for a few years now. Straight and correct, but no longer sound to ride.

April, 2014 - 5 panel negative

Bred to Colored Me Blue in 2012.  Will be a late foal, so we will not breed her back until 2014.  July, 2013 Georgia gave us an amazing bay tobiano colt.  Double homozygous, 5 panel negative..  I'd keep this one....if we needed an additional stallion prospect.  (sold)
Will breed her to Kash early 2014.  (Change that to Pepsi....Kash is sold to Thailand)

Bred to Pepsis Color Master for 2015.  No foal for this mare in 2015.  She either didn't get pregnant, or she lost it early in the pregnancy.
Bred to Pepsis Color Master for 2016.  Just had to try it again, hopefully with better results....

Still working on getting this mare in foal. She spent a couple of weeks at the vet in 2016, working on clearing up a uterine infection. We will probably keep working on getting her pregnant regardless of how long it takes. (and how high the vet bills get....)

Well, it did end up being quite expensive, but Georgia is IN FOAL for 2018. :-)

Tremendous mare.  Extremely stout, heavy boned and correct.  Beautiful head and ear.  Good sized mare with a personality that can not be beat, PLUS she's been blessed with her daddy's grulla coloring.   January, 2004....just put 30 days ride on her.  She's quiet, she's sensible, and she's sweet.  She has not been ridden since.   That's ok, though, her value as a broodmare more than makes up for  her lack of riding the past few years.  Her foals have always been the best of the foal crops, and have had super sweet personalities.
May, 2014 5 panel tested.  All clear.

Bred to the black homozygous tobiano son of Strait From Texas for 2014.
Sorrel tobiano filly.

Bred to Pepsis Color Master for 2015.
Buckskin/dun tobiano colt.

Bred back to Pepsi for 2016. Zondra has a beautiful dun/grulla tobiano filly by her side in 2016. Could be hz dun. Zondra was bred to No Risk for one cycle in 2016. Since it was getting late in the breeding season, we did not check her back before putting her and her filly out to summer pasture. Similar to her half sister, Freckles, if she's in foal, that's great. If not, no big deal. She gets the year off.

She does have a gorgeous grullo tobiano colt by her side in 2017. We made no attempt at a rebreed, she's getting this year off.

Stallion Rankings - A Top Stallion Ranked By:

As you can see, her conformation (especially for a 'cow horse') is incredible.  Sal is a great mare to be around.  She's sweet and friendly with no bad habits or vices. We had her ridden for 30 days shortly before age 3. Sal is definitely what everyone should be looking for in a broodmare.  Spots would be nice, but since she's 100% AQHA bred (one cropout a couple of generations back), her (lack of) 'color' should not be surprising.

$1250 (does not include 2016 foal, but I will include a free rebreed for 2017)

April 2, 2014 - 5 panel test results - negative across all

Bred to Pepsis Color Master for 2016. GORGEOUS dun tobiano colt. This mare could be our best producer. Her price would be 2 or 3 times higher if she weren't 'just' a sorrel. Bred back to Pepsi for 2017.

Letting this 'baby factory' have the year off. She deserves it. We will plan to breed her to Pepsis Color Master in 2018.

Docs Smart Dancer
1998 dun tobiano mare
($2000 until confirmed in foal)

Sire: Color Me Smart
Dam:
Dancer is a futurity winner. No longer sound to ride, but travels sound in the pasture. GREAT broodmare.
Left open in 2016 to give her a break. Have not decided whether to breed to MC, Pepsi, or No Risk in 2017......

Confirmed in foal to No Risk for 2018. Since No Risk is a double hz black tobiano (son of Ris Key Busness) and Dancer is heterozygous agouti, we are hoping for a double hz grullo tobiano. Dun or black would also be fantastic. If we get a colt, he will probably be our next stallion prospect! You can still buy her for $2000, but we retain rights to the 2018 foal. IF you want the foal, her price is $2750.
